I'm sure most of you will agree that travel can be life-changing. Exposure to new cultures, landscapes, and languages is an experience in itself, but sometimes we also travel for the purpose of achieving something and ticking something off the old bucket list.
Deanne Michalik, Emily Pelley and Karen Hatcher are back just such an epic adventure. After some time in Columbia and Peru, they concluded their trip with a hike of Machu Picchu. They were part of a Canadian team fundraising for Tim Horton's Foundation Camps. They not only crushed the mountain, but also their fundraising goals. Forty three kilometers and 70000 stairs later (and some blood, sweat and tears) they concluded the hike and will be at EO to tell the story.
Curious about travel in South America? Want to hear a bit more about getting there, getting around, food, accommodation and, of course, Machu Picchu? Sign up for their travel talk happening this Wednesday night, October 8 at 7 p.m.
